Milonga La Yumba welcomes Alexander Richardson and Erin Scott-Kafadar, established tango artists who have performed at tango festivals and milongas as well as on television, in theatres and aboard cruise ships all over the world. Alexander and Erin perform three distinct styles of tango:
- authentic salon tango—tango, milonga and vals, improvised to traditional music;
- exciting stage tango, combining improvisation with choreography to showcase the drama, passion and intrigue of Argentine tango;
- “pointe tango”–a new, innovative style of dance that combines the athleticism of classical ballet with the traditions of Argentine Tango.
Erin and Alexander also offer over 15 years’ experience in teaching Argentine tango and believe that anyone can learn this dance if given individual attention and taught with clarity in a fun, dynamic way. Their classes break every movement pattern down into simple elements that every student can understand. With understanding comes mastery, and the ability to create and enjoy.
We are delighted to have Alexander and Erin with us at La Yumba this month for a special 1½-hour tango class and what promises to be an electrifying tango performance.
