What happens when Argentine tango meets classical ballet?
In Search of the Abrazo is an hour long film exploring the connection of the Tango Abrazo or hug between two people interpreted though PointeTango’s unique blend of Argentine tango combined with classical ballet.
★★★★★ Award-winning dance company PointeTango interprets the story of two dancers who’s bodies and energies become entwined in the Tango Abrazo (embrace) and slowly begin to move and breathe as one. Searching for the balance of connection, passion and tenderness within the tango abrazo, a story of human connection is told through the articulation of elevated feet in pointe shoes supported by elegant male strength. The film incorporates different filming styles from close up intimate moments of connection to pedestrian human interactions and highlighting the dancers’ physical and technical mastery.
